Manage the panel users on a panel

SPC Connect enables you to view a list of panel users on a panel and to perform a range of user management functions.

To view a list of panel users on a panel from SPC Connect:

  1. Click Panels in the site navigation.

  2. Click the name of the panel for which you want to add a new panel user.

  3. Click Panel Users in the site navigation.

    A list of panel users registered on the panel displays. See The Panel Users page for more information.

    You can change the PIN/web password for a panel user (see The Change Panel User PIN/Web Password page), edit a panel user (see The Add/Edit Panel User page) or delete a panel user.

To create a new panel user on a panel from SPC Connect:

  1. Click Panels in the site navigation.

  2. Click the name of the panel for which you want to view a list of panel users.

  3. Click Panel Users in the site navigation.

  4. Click Add Panel User.

  5. Enter panel user details on the Add Panel User page then click Save (see The Add/Edit Panel User page).

      To assign a PIN for the panel user, enter a User PIN on the Add Panel User page before clicking Save. To email the PIN to the user, enter an Email address for the user, then click Email under Email User Details after the panel user is saved.

If you need to modify/create a large number of panel users, you can export current panel user details, make changes/additions in a Microsoft® Excel spreadsheet, and re-import the panel user details. To do this:

  1. Click Panels in the site navigation.

  2. Click the name of the panel for which you want to view a list of panel users.

  3. Click Panel Users in the site navigation.

  4. Click Export Panel Users on the Panel Users page.

    The export function generates a .zip file containing an XML file and a corresponding Microsoft® Excel template file (.xlsm format) with details of currently configured panel users. Depending on your browser configuration, you may be prompted to specify where to save this .zip file.

  5. Unzip the exported .zip file.

  6. Open the .xlsm file in Microsoft® Excel, make the required changes/additions, click Save and close the spreadsheet.

    The panel user details in the XML file are automatically updated when you close the .xlsm file.

  7. Click the Import Panel Users option on the Panel Users page.

  8. On the Import Panel Users page, click Choose File to open a window where you can browse to and select the XML file with panel user details.

  9. Select the XML file, then click Open Panel User File to read panel user records from the file.

    The results area shows details for each panel user record read from the XML file.

  10. In the results area, select the check box for each panel user you want to add/update, then click Import Panel Users to the SPC Panel, and confirm the import when prompted.

    A Progress column is added to the table in the results area: this displays the import progress for each record. When the import is complete, a message at the top of the page indicates how many records were imported successfully, and how many failed.

To create an SPC Connect account for an existing panel user from SPC Connect:

  1. Click Panels in the site navigation.

  2. Click the name of the panel for which you want to create an SPC Connect account.

  3. Click Panel Users in the site navigation.

  4. Click Create SPC Connect Account  beside the user for which you want to create an SPC Connect account.

  5. Enter SPC Connect account details on the Create SPC Connect Account page then click Create SPC Connect Panel User and Profile (see The Create SPC Connect Account page).

    SPC Connect sends an activation email to the email address provided: the recipient should click the confirmation link in the email and follow the instructions on screen to activate their SPC Connect account and begin accessing their panel.

     
    • The user will be prompted to enter their postcode when confirming their registration. This must match the value that you entered on this page.

    • An error message is displayed if you try to create an account for a panel user that does not have Web Access in at least one assigned panel user profile. For more information on user profiles, see http://van.fyi?Link=SPCpanelIG and The Panel User Profiles page.
