Edit panel configuration offline using SPC Connect Pro

You can edit panel configuration details offline in SPC Connect Pro. When you have made all required changes, you can send the updated panel configuration to the panel. This procedure is described below.

You can also connect to a panel and make configuration changes directly. See Edit panel configuration online using SPC Connect Pro for more information.

  1. Click Local Panels in the SPC Connect Pro navigation.

  2. Click Offline Config   for the panel for which you want to edit configuration settings.

The Offline Configuration page appears. A list of the configuration file backups for the selected panel appears. See The Offline SPC Panel Config files page.

To add a configuration file to the Offline Configuration page, click Backup the configuration of the SPC Panel to SPC Connect Pro   on the Panel Connect page (see The Panel Connect page).

  3. (Optional) You can add a configuration file from your Favourites list or local PC to the list.

See Add a configuration file to the Offline SPC Panel Configuration page for more information.

  4. (Optional) You can create a copy of the configuration file before making changes.

To do this, on the Offline Configuration page click Replicate   beside the original file. A copy of that file is added to the end of the list of configuration files on the Offline Configuration page.

  5. (Optional) You can add a note to the configuration file details about the edits you are making.

To do this, on the Offline Configuration page, click SPC Config Details   beside the configuration file, and on the SPC Config File Details page add information to the Config File Description field.

  6. On the Offline Configuration page, click View / Edit   beside the configuration file you want to edit.

The configuration file opens in the Offline Configuration Editor page in SPC Connect Pro.

  7. Make changes to the panel configuration and click Save regularly as you work.

  8. When you have made and saved all required changes, click Send this configuration file to the SPC Panel  .

  9. Confirm when prompted to update the panel with the saved configuration file.

You must be connected to the panel to send the configuration file.

When you send a configuration file to the panel, the engineer credentials on the panel are changed to those from the configuration file. If the engineer credentials in the configuration file do not match those in SPC Connect Pro, you must update the engineer credentials on the Installation Details to continue connecting to the panel from the Local Panels page.
